Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) provides training to the general public on how to help somebody who may be experiencing mental distress.
Mental Health First Aid does not teach you how to diagnose or treat mental health conditions. Just like with physical first aid, what it does teach you, is how to provide initial support and how to encourage the person to seek professional help. There are various different Mental Health First Aid courses, which are tailored for specific groups. The four types are Adult MHFA, Armed Forces MHFA, Higher Education MHFA and Youth MHFA. Youth MHFA is for those who may live, work or come into contact with under 18's.
At present, I am only able to teach the 2 day MHFA course, but in 2018 I will be able to teach other courses (for example the 3 hour Youth Lite and the Youth MHFA One Day) Due to funding, I am able to provide the 2 day course at a discounted rate, rather than the full £300. If you would like to discuss the possibility of having a course run near you, please feel free to contact me. I am also able to run courses for schools or organisations, for 8-16 people per course. Prices start at £1200. For more information and to discuss the possibility of running a course for your organisation, please contact me.
I have courses coming up in Herefordshire, Oxford, Liverpool and Hull- dates TBC
